One of the most timeless Thanksgiving traditions is going around the table and sharing with your loved ones all the things you’re thankful for. So this November, we are extending the tradition throughout the entire month with our social media gratitude challenge.
Gratitude can be a powerful tool in your mental health toolbox. Focusing on the aspects of your life that bring you joy and reminding yourself about them on a regular basis has been shown to ease anxiety, improve mood and brighten your outlook. And there are many easy ways to practice incorporating more gratitude into your daily life. You can try making lists in a journal of the things or people you are grateful for, or you can think about the things you’re grateful for while you’re brushing your teeth or doing other chores. Simply taking a few moments to think about these things on a regular basis will go far towards improving your mental health.
That’s why this month, we’re giving you some added incentive to incorporate more gratitude into your daily life. Starting on November 2, we’ll be giving away prizes, hosting pop-up events and sharing tips and tricks on how to do so. To participate, make sure you’re following Power for Life Fitness on Instagram and Facebook and sign up to receive email updates regarding the challenge (this step is key because it’s how you’ll be notified if you’ve won). Then each Friday, post about three things you’re grateful for or snap and share a photo of your gratitude journal on social. Make sure to tag @powerforlifefitness in your post, otherwise we won’t see and count your post. And the person who posts the most throughout November will receive a personalized prize specific to what they’re thankful for.
